The Dragon Student Information System

As an independent study student, you’ll often hear reference to “Dragon.” Dragon is the name of the School of Continuing Studies student information system.

If you take an online course, Dragon is where you access your learning guide and submit your assignments.

Students in both online and correspondence courses can use Dragon to

  • register for courses.
  • check the status of your lessons and exams.
  • check your grades.
  • request an exam.
  • update your phone number and email address.
  • get the latest announcements.

After you’ve been officially enrolled in Dragon, you can log in at dragon.pop.indiana.edu. Once there, you can access a whole set of tools under Student Tools.

On the My Courses screen, for example, you can see the courses you are currently registered for, as well as courses you have already taken. You can also make a study schedule. Under Course in Progress on the My Courses screen, you can check your assignment and exam status, see your grades the moment your instructor posts them, and apply for exams.

The Register for Courses screen allows you to do just that if you are paying by credit card; the Course Cart screen shows all the courses you’ve added to your shopping cart.

Under My Info, you can find your user ID number and update your phone number and email address.

The Student Handbook, Plagiarism Policy, and Code of Conduct screens all provide important information that will enhance your success as an independent study student.

Log in to Dragon today and start exploring. It’s easy!

Important: Mozilla Firefox is the required Web Browser for using Dragon. If you do not have this browser on your computer, you can download it at www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/.

Your UID Number

When you are enrolled in Dragon, you are assigned a unique User ID (UID) number. The Independent Study Program uses the UID number in lieu of a social security number to identify you. You can learn your UID number from your My Info screen in Dragon. The number also appears on the top of your lesson labels.
